Join Museum of the Earth educators in celebrating the International Year of Biodiversity with fun hands-on activities every Saturday in July and August. 

Saturday, July 3 - Oil Spill! - Learn about how oil can threaten biodiversity by conducting experiments and observing how oil affects bird eggs and feathers.

Saturday, July 10 - Animal Adaptations - Discover how animals are adapted to their habitats by choosing a habitat to explore and making your own creature to take home.

Saturday, July 17 - New Species Arise - Walk an evolutionary path to see how a mountain barrier can cause a new species to form.

Saturday, July 24 - Lunchtime - Examine different foods and track how your lunch affects biodiversity.

Saturday, July 31 - Extinction! - Play dress-up and learn how extinction leads to the evolution of new species.

Saturday, August 7 - Beaky Birds - Discover how different adaptations can allow four different bird species to live together in one tree.

Saturday, August 14 - Invasive Species - Learn how an invasive species can decrease the biodiversity of habitat and how to recognize them.

Saturday, August 28 - Amazing Adaptations -Syracuse's Rosamond Gifford Zoo will be bringing live animals to the Museum for an exploration of the amazing animal adaptations.
