PRI and its two public venues for education, the Museum of the Earth and the Cayuga Nature Center, offer many ways for individuals to get involved in order to support and continue the mission.
Your donation—whether its $10 or $1,000—directly supports public educational programs, exhibits, collections, and research.
You can become a member! Our Membership packages are designed to meet your needs whether you are a local family seeking free year-round admission to the Museum of the Earth and/or the Cayuga Nature Center or a scientist seeking reduced bench fees and discounts on scientific research publications.
Volunteer and internship opportunities are available in a dynamic and wide range of departments. In the past, PRI and the Museum have worked with students from surrounding schools in the area like Cornell University, Ithaca College, and TC3.
One way to get involved is through our Adopt a Bone project in which one can "adopt" a bone of the 14,500 year old Hyde Park Mastodon. These opportunities of support range from $25 to $20,000.
Another adoption program is our popular Adopt a Tile. Barbara Page's Rock of Ages/Sands of Time, a permanent mural in the Museum, consists of 544 tiles. With a gift of $1,000, you can honor family, friends, and loved ones and have honorees' names displayed in the Museum lobby. Honorees also receive a special print of their tile from the artist.
Consider serving on our Community Advisory Board. The CAB identifies ways in which PRI and the Museum can better serve and communicate to Ithaca and surrounding communities. The CAB gives their general insight on how to facilitate the education of Earth science to the general public.
However you choose to participate—THANK YOU for your support!
