PRI’s occasional “special publications” are stand-alone books and booklets written by staff members and other authorities on specific topics, and are produced two to four times each year. One of the most popular special publications is “Ithaca is Gorges.” This booklet, written by PRI staff, explains the geology and paleontology of the Finger Lakes Region.
PRI’s special publications are offered by single-issue purchase and standing order. Forthcoming titles are posted on this website, in the “book list.”
Natural selection. In this cartoon, darker colored birds are more successful at surviving and reproducing than lighter colored birds, and so they increase their proportion in the population in later generations. Charles Darwin proposed natural selection as the primary cause for descent with modification in the Origin of Species in 1859. From Evolution & Creationism: A Very Short Guide.
