Notes:
In September 2007, the Subcommission on Devonian Stratigraphy (SDS) of the International Union of Geological Sciences (IUGS), in conjunction with the International Geoscience Programme (IGCP) Project 499 – Devonian Land Sea Interaction Evolution of Ecosystems and Climate – held its annual meeting in Eureka, Nevada. The meeting was preceded by a seven-day field trip organized and led by Jared Morrow with contributions from Mike Murphy, Charlie Sandberg, and John Warme that visited high Silurian through low Carboniferous strata in Nevada and Utah at such classic localities as Hancock Summit, Bactrian Mountain, Little Mile-and-a-Half Canyon, Lone Mountain, Red Hill Fish Beds, and Devil’s Gate. The meeting was held in the Opera House in Eureka, a restored building constructed in 1880. Fifty talks and posters were presented in three days of meetings by scientists from 14 countries. Herein are the abstracts and eight papers that document fossils, strata, sea level, and geochemistry in a time of significant global changes. The 93-page field trip guidebook is included with purchase as a CD-ROM and here as an electronic supplement. Click on "Abstract" for the full Table of Contents.
