Summer Symposium
You are invited to join us for the 4th annual Summer Symposium at the Paleontological Research Institution. The Symposium is an opportunity to share recent research, conduct field work, visit PRI's collections, and interact with colleagues and students.
When: Friday, August 13 and Saturday, August 14
Where: PRI and its Museum of the Earth in Ithaca, NY
Schedule of Events:
Thursday, August 12
No formal events, however please feel free to come a day early to visit our collections.
Friday, August 13
9 a.m. to Noon - Presentations
Noon to 1 p.m. - Lunch
1 p.m. to 2 p.m. - Posters and Discussion Time
2 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. - Presentations
4:30 p.m. - Keynote Speech by Dr. Richard G. Harrison
6 p.m. - Barbecue dinner
Saturday, August 14
8:30 a.m. Breakfast
9: 15 a.m. Depart for field trip of some classic local Devonian fossil sites led by Dr. Carl Brett.

Presenting:
This is an informal event and no abstracts are required if you wish to present. Please indicate if you would like to give a talk or a poster on the registration form.
Accomodations:
We invite you to sleep over at the Museum of the Earth or to bring your tent and camp in the backyard! No shower facilities will be available. For travel information and other accommodations (including camping at local State Parks) go to www.visitithaca.com.
Fees:
General Admission - $25
Students - $15
Field Trip Only - $10
(Please note that General Admission and Student fees include lunch and dinner on Friday, as well as breakfast on Saturday.)

About the Keynote Speaker:
This year, our keynote speaker will be Dr. Richard G Harrison of Cornell's Department of Ecology and Evolutionary Biology. Our summer exhibit at the Museum, "One Fish, Two Fish, Old Fish, New Fish*: Exploring the Evolution of Biodiversity" is funded by Dr. Harrison's current NSF grant.
