What do we need to do to prepare for climate change, and are we acting fast enough?

There's so much we can do locally: adjust work hours to avoid extreme heat; use rain gardens to absorb stormwater; build bigger culverts to prevent washouts from heavy rains; restore native ecosystems to help pollinators...

 

Maybe a lot of places are not adapting at a large enough scale and not preparing soon enough, but we can't just throw up our hands and give up because of that. We've got to keep trying.

The quote from the article suggests that "local" actions are not good enough. I think local action is where it all starts, so it's the most important kind of action.
