I would say it's good old-fashioned American common sense to not be wasteful and to be more energy efficient. This rule change proposal is terrible.

I want lower monthly costs by saving energy, even if there's a higher upfront appliance cost, within reason. And does energy efficient technology really make the upfront cost higher?

It's smart to be energy efficient, and stupid to waste energy. Will I have to buy appliances from other countries to get better efficiency?
